Success for City of Sydney Aquatic Club Swimmers

National Open water in Adelaide

The National Open Water Championships were held in Adelaide last weekend with two swimmers from City of Sydney Aquatic Club competing.

Christina Fitzhenry competed in her first national championships in the 13 – 14 years 5km event. Christina completed the course in a time of 1:19:34 and finished 26th in her first Nationals.

Claudia Frykberg competed in the 17 -18 years 5km event and touched in a time of 1:08:49. It took almost 5 minutes for the judges to split the Australian placegetters as all three touched together. At the end of the official deliberations, Claudia finished 3rdwinning the bronze medal.

Congratulations to both Christina and Claudia, and special thanks to Cristina Di Traglia from Cook + Phillip Park Pool who accompanied and coached our swimmers in Adelaide.
